Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Slack (NYSE: WORK). This post is primarily to see what’s the impact of this deal on slack share holders.
As per the deal, Slack shareholders will receive $26.79 in cash and 0.0776 shares of Salesforce common stock for each Slack share. Although, above calculation seems good but for someone who’s new to this terminology I will detail the steps below about what they will end up getting as part of this deal.
Let’s assume you have 100 shares of slack (NYSE: WORK), after this deal you will get:
100 X $26.79 = $2679.00 (USD in cash value)
Plus
You will also receive 0.0776 shares of Salesforce (NYSE: CRM)
100 X 0.0776 = 7.76 (~8) shares of Sales force.
If you combine it all, you will get almost $45 USD for each slack share, some in cash and some as part of Salesforce stocks.
